WH Questions.





Estructura de la pregunta con WH.


1. La palabra con WH.

What: Significa qué o cuál dependiendo el contexto, se utiliza para preguntar por una cosa o por una acción.

Who: Significa quién, se utiliza para preguntar por personas.

When: Significa cuándo, se utiliza para preguntar por el tiempo de un evento o una actividad.

Where: Significa dónde, se utiliza para preguntar por un lugar o una locación.

Why: Significa por qué, se utiliza para preguntar por una razón o la explicación sobre algo. Para responder esta pregunta comúnmente se usa la palabra "Because"

How: Significa cómo, se utiliza para preguntar por la forma o la manera de hacer algo.


2. El auxiliar.

-En presente continuo el auxiliar será el verbo to be según sea el sujeto.

I ...........   am.

He / She / It .......... Is.
 
You / We / They ...... are.

-En el presente simple el auxiliar será Do o Does según sea el sujeto.

Do (I / You / We / They)

Does (He / She / It)


3. El sujeto.

La persona o cosa hacia la que va dirigida la pregunta (I, You, He, She, It, We, They)


4. El verbo.

La acción por la que estamos preguntando.

-En el presente simple se pone el verbo en infinitivo, esto es su forma base. (run, play, sleep...)

Nota: Recordemos que la pregunta lleva auxiliar, por lo que así se empleando la tercera persona para preguntar no se le adiciona "s" al verbo.

-En el presente continuo se pone el verbo adicionando "ing" acorde a las reglas vistas en clase.


5. El complemento.

Es aquel que completa la pregunta, se adiciona de ser necesario, pues no todas las preguntas con Wh necesitan de un complemento para tener coherencia. 

Nota: El complemento no tiene relación con el tiempo verbal que se esté usando (Presente simple / Present continuous)

Pregunta sin complemento:
 
How are you doing? 

I´m doing fine.

Pregunta con complemento:

How are you doing in the lockdown?

I´m trying to stay positive and hoping for the best.
